Sam Devereaux – Detective Retro

Sam is from Brighton in the South of England. He trained at The Arts Educational Schools in West London and majored in Shakespeare, 20th Century Drama and semi-serious acting. He left with a degree under his belt in 2004 and proceeded to spend much of the first year of his career testing himself in front of some of the craziest audiences an actor will ever come across on the ‘Theatre In Education’ circuit across South West England and the Midlands. In 2006, Sam co-founded the Iron Lion Theatre Company with whom he regularly performs satirical fringe theatre including a UK revival of the Polish masterpiece, ‘Out At Sea’. It was during this time that Sam co-created the anarchic spoof cabaret, ‘The Iron Lion Lounge’ the popularity of which has been growing steadily since 2007.

More recently, Sam has found himself regularly involved in TV and film work; narrating the natural history documentary ‘The Jurassic Coast’, playing the title role in the sci-fi comedy ‘Joe Limbo’s Portal’, and, of course, appearing as Detective Retro in ‘Lush Town.’

In his spare time, Sam likes to hang out with his wonderful girlfriend Georgie, play his harmonicas and feed his geek addiction by watching as many superhero films as possible!
